Intel "New Era Of Computing" at IFA 2014, Berlin, Germany

5th August 2014
Intel have announced it plans to "usher in a new era of computing" when it appears at IFA 2014 at the IFA Exhibition Ground, Berlin, Germany.

4266MHz DDR4
Although information is limited, it is expected that Intel's latest DDR4 ready devices will play a big part in the "new era". With the reduced power consumptions of DDR4 (1.0 - 1.2V) and with speeds expected to be up to 4266MHz for Desktop Computers Intel will expect to be at the forefront of this next evolution.

Eight Core CPU's
Although AMD have been releasing Eight Core CPU's for a while now Intel have kept to multi threaded four core CPU's. This would seem to be set to change, with the new Core i7 devices designed for DDR4 running up to eights processing cores. Whether we will see motherboards that support both DDR3 and DDR4 for these CPU's is unknown as Intel plan to releases these on a new X99 platform.
