Intel Announces its 300 U.S. Semi Finalists for the Science Talent Search 2014.

Intel Corporation have announced the 300 semi finalists for this years Science Talent Search, for a full list of who's who visit www.student.societyforscience.org/intel-sts. There were nearly 1800 entrants this year from 489 high schools in 45 states and 7 overseas high schools.

Prize Money
The total prize money for this years event will be $1.25 million with each semi finalist guaranteed to receive a minimum of $1000 from the Intel Foundation. An additional $1000 will also be given to their school.

Final 40
On January 22nd the number of semi finalists will be whittled down to a final 40 all of whom will receive an all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. from March 6th - 12th.

Awards Ceremony
During their visit they will compete for the 1st place prize of $100,000, second place will receive $75,000, third place $50,000 and the next seven places will share a combined $180,000. For reaching the final stage each finalist will receive a minimum of $7,500. Winners will be announced on March 11th at the gala awards ceremony at the National Building Museum.

They are most well known for their ranges of Desktop PC Processors and also Mobile and Server Processors although they also produce Solid State Drives and Motherboards for the retail sector.
