26th February 2014
Nokia have announced two awards won at the this years GSMA Global Mobile Award ceremony, Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain. The pair, both for Nokia's more affordable ranges further establish its dominance and on going commitment to providing low cost entry level phones.

Nokia Lumia 520
Nokia's Lumia 520 won the award for "Best Low Cost Smartphone", pitted against their rivals Lenovo with the A390T, Samsung's Galaxy Young, the Sony Xperia E and the Xiaomi Hongmi.

Nokia 105
Their second award, in the affordable device category was won by the Nokia 105. Although any award is always good news, it should be pointed out that the only manufacturer to enter phones in this category was Nokia, so a win is a foregone conclusion. However Nokia also entered the Nokia 208, Nokia 515, Asha 210 and Asha 503 for the same award which at least puts the 105 above those.

Commenting on the wins, Chairman, Timo Toikkanen said "This is a great achievement for us, there is still a lot of opportunity in the affordable market. Nokia's renowned design and quality have made our devices a hit with consumers all over the world. This award demonstrates Nokia's leadership in this space."
